Weddings (and dancing) are officially back on!
As an established Whistler Wedding Florist and Pemberton Wedding Florist, since starting Ninebark in 2014 I’ve had the chance to work first-hand with plenty of local venues. Here I share some of my favourites and showcase the most unique and beautiful venues in the area.
Whistler Wedding Venues
This beautiful private venue is set on 20 acres and is only a short drive away from Whistler.
It is perfect for a totally private wedding weekend with your close friends and family. This venue is available for weddings year round, and features a versatile selection of unique venues on site to host your Whistler wedding ceremony plus an intimate lodge for your Whistler wedding reception. The Brew Creek Centre can accommodate up to 100 guests for your wedding reception and dinner during the summer months up until October 31. For weddings from November 1 to May 31, they can accommodate up to 70 guests.
An interesting fact about this venue is that it also places value on sustainability by trying to conserve energy and maximize resources. The food is prepared on-site by a skilled culinary team, with a large proportion of ingredients organically grown on-site in their beautiful geodesic dome and gardens. In the summer, The Brew Creek Centre also has stunning landscape gardens that provide a beautiful backdrop for an outdoor wedding.
The Brew Creek Centre is full service and coordinates all elements of your stay. Friendly local staff know the area and are a great resource in helping make your Whistler wedding weekend personal and unique.
“One of my favourite creative moments at The Brew Creek Centre was designing the florals for Fiona and Landon, who pivoted from a large family wedding to an intimate micro wedding in the middle of the pandemic. With Fiona’s heritage being Scottish and her family on the other side of the world unable to travel to the wedding, Scottish florals and colours from her family’s tartan were incorporated into the designs to bring a subtle Scottish connection to the day.”
The Audain Art Gallery offers a modern and centrally located venue to host your exclusive wedding in Whistler. The museum’s permanent collection includes a comprehensive selection of British Columbian Art from Emily Carr to Bill Reid.
This stunning space offers both indoor and outdoor options and can comfortably host 130 guests from May to September. Hold your Whistler wedding ceremony under the impressive architect-designed building or under the open air in the gallery’s Meadow. You and your wedding guests can then move to an indoor or outdoor reception dinner and finally into the imposing Cressy Hall for dancing.
“Timeless elegance was the theme of Emily and Robs wedding at the Audain Art Gallery. To create the look, a classic white and green palette was paired with scented garden roses and romantic greenery to compliment the couples minimal, yet elevated style.”
This combined cultural centre and museum is an unexpected wedding venue located right in the heart of Whistler and celebrates the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations through their beautiful historical artifacts and art. With a variety of versatile indoor and outdoor spaces available to host your Whistler wedding, the venue is perfect for both large and intimate gatherings (i.e. micro weddings).
The Great Hall located on the main level can accommodate up to 300 guests for an evening reception or 150 for a sit-down dinner. The Mezzanine Patio can also accommodate up to 300 guests for an evening reception, and up to 200 guests for a sit-down dinner. The Istken Hall can comfortably accommodate up to 130 guests for seated dining.
The in-house catering team utilizes traditional First Nations ingredients with the intention of providing a gathering place where the focus is honouring your special day with a fantastic feast.
“After choosing a winter wedding at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Nicola and Matt chose rich, jewel tones for their florals to create warmth and have stand out in the snow. For Nicola’s bouquet delicate anemones were paired with bold red roses, thistles and berries which brought texture and depth to the design.”
This newly renovated golf club offers a beautiful backdrop for intimate Whistler weddings of up to 100 people. It’s situated on Whistler’s breathtaking Green Lake and has stunning photo opportunities and mountain views.
You are able to design a personalized menu with the Chef at Nicklaus North utilizing locally available and ethically sourced ingredients. This upgraded Whistler venue is available to book year round! The team is helpful, knowledgeable, and works extremely hard to make your day special.
“The warm, earth tones of Kristy and Jon’s wedding at Nicklaus North were inspired by the autumnal colours in nature at the time of their Fall wedding. With Kristy’s favourite flower being Protea, a White Owl Protea was used as the focal point of her bridal bouquet. It was combined with a selection of other boldly textured blooms and berries to create a modern and dramatic look.”
Pemberton Wedding Venues
Available for summer weddings in Pemberton, BC., this private boutique lodge is set on a beautiful acreage and is perfect for intimate or micro-weddings with up to 75 guests. Surrounded by old growth Cedar trees this venue provides a stunning backdrop for your Pemberton wedding ceremony.
Located in the Pemberton Meadows, Riverlands is situated on an impressive equestrian facility and offers a wide selection of venues to host your country-style Pemberton wedding for up to 150 people. Surrounded by grass paddocks and livestock, the venue's barn conversion “The Red Barn” is a great location to host a rustic event, or for those looking for a more formal event, “The Derby Lawn” can accommodate a marquee. With views of the Coast Mountains and the Pemberton Valley, this venue has great photo opportunities and the novelty of nature.
“Amanda and Joel’s wedding floral was created using crisp whites, creams and blush contrasted with dark emerald greenery to create a classic yet modern look that offset the wilderness surrounding the Red Barn at Riverlands. Their ceremony florals combined romantic blooms with subtle tropical influences, with the flowers being displayed in groupings for a structured clean look.”
With one of the best views of Mt. Tz’il, Big Sky is a great location to host a wedding in Pemberton and offers the benefits of a charming clubhouse, manicured grounds and in-house restaurant and bar. This Pemberton golf club is able to accommodate up to 120 people, as the venue is perfect for intimate or micro-weddings in Pemberton.
“Locals Chelsea and Phil who enjoyed a beautiful summer wedding at Big Sky, were lucky enough to have their wedding flowers grown especially for them close to their home in Pemberton. The blooms were harvested the day before their wedding, with Ninebark helping walk the fields to pick the most beautiful blooms before turning them into custom designs filled with sentimental touches.”
